Job Title: Trade Compliance Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to support the management of timely and accurate import and export activities, ensuring compliance with government regulations and corporate policies. This role involves a high degree of detail and complexity, requiring significant judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
+ Support the management of import and export activities in compliance with government regulations and corporate policies.
+ Monitor changes in tariff or duty-related programs and evaluate their impacts.
+ Coordinate with Business Units and Customs Compliance Manager to establish processes and manage trade-related certificates and entry audits.
+ Support post-entry activities, including Post Summary Corrections, Protests, and Voluntary Tenders.
+ Maintain accurate product descriptions, tariff classifications, and trade agreement indicators.
+ Execute audits related to imports, exports, classification, and free trade agreements.
+ Monitor export control activities and coordinate license and permit management.
+ Support processes related to drawback or other duty/tax claims.
+ Provide management and finance information to facilitate refunds.
Essential Skills
+ Strong working knowledge and experience in import and export activities.
+ Practical knowledge of CBP compliance best practices and regulations.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Undergraduate degree in supply chain logistics, finance, accounting, international business, or similar field, or a minimum of 6 years of practical experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ A current customs broker’s license is desired but not required.
Work Environment
This is a 100% remote position, offering a long-term contract opportunity. The work environment involves both recurring and non-recurring work situations with a high degree of detail and complexity. Candidates must be able to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. A federal background check and fingerprinting are required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
