Job Description

The Import/Export Logistics Specialist manages end-to-end international logistics operations, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective import and export processes. Key responsibilities include preparing customs documentation, coordinating global shipments, overseeing track and trace activities, and collaborating with third-party service providers to ensure seamless execution.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Support internal customers with manual shipping needs for imports/exportsTimely creation and distribution of accurate commercial invoicesCoordinate with various Freight Forwarders and NVOCCs to provide Required Elements for proper export/import regulationsEngage Logistics Providers (Air, Sea, Overland) to quote and book transportation needsEnsure Incoterm responsibilities and properly fulfilled for each shipment, by all parties involvedTrack & trace manual shipments, notifying the “ship to” parties & relevant stakeholders of ETA, delays, etc.Engage suppliers to obtain essential data and mandatory documentation in support of customs clearance processesReview appropriateness and create applicable waivers, submitting to Customs BrokerageResolve issues resulting in freight being held by logistics companies or other 3rd partiesInvestigate import/export standard process exceptions and deviations with management and Customs Compliance SMEs within BoschDirectly support reverse logistics for international customer returnsCoordinate between internal stakeholders and suppliers to support return-to-vendor logistics activityProvide crucial analytical and administrative support for CBP inquiriesPerform necessary data entry into the company’s ERP system (SAP)Properly store and maintain records to support document retention requirementsSupport delivery discrepancy reporting and evidence gatheringSupport freight claims processing as appropriate for shipments managedPerform ad hoc data gathering / analysis efforts

QualificationsH.S Diploma or G.E.D w/ 2+ Years of Customs Compliance (Import/Export) relevant experience, and 4+ Years of Logistics experienceProficient in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, MS Excel, etc.)Proficient with navigating, utilizing, and maintaining ERP systems (SAP preferred)  Proven data management skills and ability to report dataMust be able to travel domestically and internationally (up to 4 weeks per year)Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Prefer:

Bachelors Degree in Supply Management, Logistics, or Business AdministrationLicensed Customs Broker or Trade Specialist CertifiedExperience working with Customs Brokers to file Post Summary Corrections
