Implementation Consultant - gPROMS

Your impact

We are now looking for highly motivated graduate and experienced engineers to join the Siemens Industry Software as Consultant and Application Engineers. Successful candidates will start with a varied role where you will contribute to both Consulting and Application Engineering activities. As you progress, you will have the opportunity to guide your career path to focus on a particular role.

Your duties and responsibilities will include a combination of the following:

Project execution (Consulting focus)

Execution of consulting projects using gPROMS plus in-house tools and methodologies, ensuring they are delivered to the highest quality and within budgeted cost and time. Projects can cover process development, process safety, and operational applications

Business Development (Applications Engineering focus)

Provide technical sales support to Business Development Managers in the Energy & Chemicals Business Unit, including visiting prospects, developing presentations, guiding software evaluations, attending trade shows and presenting at seminars and conferences Customer support in application of our products, including preparing and conducting training courses, helpdesk activities, and responding to direct support requests

General Responsibilities

Maintain effective relationships with internal customer, external customers, and technical peers to support effective projects delivery Works on projects/assignments of moderate to complex scope Provide information and feedback to internal or external customers in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner, as required by defined project activities, ensuring that key messages are communicated effectively                                 Install and undertake configuration tasks using tool kits and using Best Practices, Industry Standards and provide support for estimation of time frames, work package breakdown, capability, etc. Willing and able to travel to appropriate work locations, as required by SISW or specified by the customer pursuit/project definitions required to successfully implement projects

What qualifications and experience you should have

A BEng, MEng, MSc, or Ph.D. in Chemical, Process, or Petroleum Engineering. A related technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Biochemistry or Chemistry may be acceptable depending on other experience. First-principles or mechanistic modelling experience. Experience with modelling using partial differential equations is of particular interest. Programming (FORTRAN, Python, C, C++) experience would be helpful but not essential Relevant industrial experience gained from working in an operating company, at production facilities, in allied industries or in other roles that required process simulation experience would be an advantage Working knowledge of associated Industry Standards API 521 and API 520 would be an advantage Knowledge of other Siemens software like XHQ, COMOS, Walkinside, SIMIT would be an advantage

What skills and attributes we are looking for

Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering activities Minimum 3 years of experience in process simulations related activities Ability to understand customer requirements and propose solutions and applicable scenarios to software implementations Excellent oral and written English language skills Ability to work independently and as a team member Ability to prioritize scheduled tasks and react to unexpected problems Spanish language skills are desirable Travel ability up to 30% of the work time

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.
