Impatient Psychiatric RN
The Psychiatric/Mental Health (PMH) Registered Nurse, requires a wide range of nursing, psychosocial, and neurobiological expertise. PMH nurses promote well-being through prevention and education, in addition to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. The nurse demonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. The PMH RN works in a variety of settings and provides comprehensive care to individuals, families, and communities when applicable. Minimum Requirements: + Current Registered Nurse Licensure in-state practicing + Current CPR if applicable + TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age General Comments Start Date MUST BE ABLE TO START WEEK OF 12/8/25, NO EXCEPTIONS Length of Contract 2-6 months, will give 30 day notice if contract needs to be ended early Shift Mon-Fri, 7:30 am – 4 pm Hours/Week? 40 Submission Requirements/ MINIMUM experience required to submit + Resume + Skills checklist + Active BLS certificate + Proof of active WA RN license + CANDIDATES MUST BE IN OFFER MADE TO SUBMIT + Proof of ANCC certification in Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing. + Proof of CPI or certification in non-violent crisis intervention Feedback Time? 48 hours GTE or Shift Cancellation Policy Shifts guaranteed Additional Details + Medical transport. Assist MHT3s with transport of OHBH patients. Ensuring all medical appointments are scheduled in a timely manner and patients are escorted to appointments on-campus and off in a safe and respectful manner. Ensures appropriate transportation is scheduled in a timely manner and ensures communication between the ward staff and escorts. Will accompany patients that require an RN during transport. Gathers patient information and sends to clinics ahead of patient visits; serves as communication liaison between providers, consulting community providers, and our treatment team for patient medical needs. Oversees the delivery of patient care during transport and works with medical escorts to assure compliance with OHBH policies and procedures, and DSHS Administrative policies. Evaluates the process for scheduling patient appointments, escorting patients in a safe manner and adjusting appointments as needed. + Implements the established system and scheduling process for hospitalized patients to be assessed by specialists and contract physicians. The system ensures patients are seen in a timely manner and the flow of the clinic process enables all patients to be evaluated as ordered. + Audits aspects of care delivery to ensure OHBH Standards and CMS conditions of participation are met. + Maintains communication between the clinic, the physician, the patient, and the ward. Ensures the ward is aware of procedures and patient schedules and the outcome of the clinic visit. + Ensures Medical escorts communicate with wards to ensure ward staff are aware of scheduled appointments for patients.
