Job Description

Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, a nationally recognized laboratory, is searching for an experienced Bioassay Research Associate to work in our Professional Scientific Services group in San Diego, CA. The person in this role will work in a cross-functional environment and assist key lab operations including cell isolation, nucleic acid extractions and quantification of analytes in conditioned media or biospecimens.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMC) and primary cell isolation from whole bloodPrimary cell culture and functional assays to characterize drug target pathway activity or pharmacodynamic biomarkersNucleic acid extractions from primary cells, protein preparations of tissue lysates and quantificationMulti-color flow cytometry on primary cells and tissue single cell suspensionsQuantification of biomarkers by immunoassay in conditioned media and patient biospecimensCoordinate with biobanking team on sample requests and facilitate biospecimen transferMaintain accurate and thorough paper and electronic documentation of experiments, data and reports

Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

Strong cell culture skills including cell lines and primary cellsExperience developing ex-vivo cell-based assays to assess immune responses from human whole blood, PBMCs, and various immune cell subsetsProficiency in data analysis using Excel, Prism (GraphPad), FlowJoExperience with immunoassay platforms (e.g., ELISA, Meso Scale Discovery, Simoa, Gyro) to measure analytes in serum, plasma, supernatant or cell lysates is requiredExperience in multi-color flow cytometry to immunophenotype human cells (from blood or tissues), to assess immune response or cell signaling pathwaysExcellent problem-solving and organizational skillsDemonstrated effective communications skills, oral and written, in a multi-disciplinary, project-driven environment

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

BS/MS in immunology, cell biology, or related biomedical science with 2+ years relevant industry experienceAuthorization to work in the United State indefinitely without restriction of sponsorship (OPT, H1B, etc.)

Position is Full Time, Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of La Jolla, CA are encouraged to apply.
