Immediate Hiring For Phlebotomist
Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description The primary role of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting training issues, and making workflow recommendations. This position requires expertise in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information. Responsibilities + Conduct blood draws using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. + Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously. + Understand and follow all physicians' orders accurately. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order. + Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels are 100% correct. + Package specimens properly for transport. + Store specimen samples at required temperatures and in appropriate containers. + Follow specific protocols to maintain specimen integrity during transport. + Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. + Attend annual department trainings. + Respond to telephone inquiries and read laboratory results as needed. Essential Skills + Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment. + Phlebotomist experience of 2 plus years. + Experience drawing blood in a healthcare setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED. + Experience in pediatrics and geriatrics is preferred. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
