Join Logan Health as an Imaging Tech specializing in X-Ray and CT. In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic exams, assisting providers with specialty procedures, and ensuring safe, compassionate care for patients across all age groups.
What You’ll Do
Perform general diagnostic exams, CT exams, and assist physicians with specialty exams.
Conduct patient interviews to explain procedures, review medical history, allergies, and ensure safe examinations.
Position patients for imaging procedures and maintain communication during exams.
Demonstrate working knowledge of imaging equipment operation and cross-sectional anatomy.
Enter and review patient data, select appropriate scan sequences, and monitor image quality.
Perform daily safety, warm-up, and quality control checks; troubleshoot and report equipment issues.
Provide care tailored to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Maintain patient confidentiality, privacy, and dignity at all times.
Alert and educate staff on MRI safety protocols.
Support departmental goals through clerical duties, scheduling, exam preparation, and charge entry.
Maintain accurate records and departmental statistics.
Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent patient experiences and outcomes.
Adhere to Logan Health’s Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct, including reporting suspected violations and attending mandatory compliance training.
What You’ll BringRequired
Current Montana Radiologic Technologist License.
ARRT Registration.
Current AHA BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire).
Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
Experience using PACS systems and basic computer proficiency.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to perform basic math calculations and apply problem-solving in standardized situations.
Preferred
Experience with McKesson systems.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot imaging equipment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Position Responsibilities
Performs general diagnostic exams, CT exams, and assist physicians with specialty exams.
Performs daily safety, warm-up, and quality control checks.
Knows and demonstrates a working knowledge of how the X-Ray and CT equipment operates, and its uses.
Performs visual preventive maintenance checks on equipment, spots safety problems and reports these to the appropriate personnel verbally or by telephone.
Interviews patient to explain X-Ray/CT procedures. Questions the patient regarding past medical history, allergies and other pertinent information pertaining to the safety of the examination.
Adheres to departmental guidelines by documenting all information on the "tech sheet".
Positions patient on examining table for procedures.
Demonstrates use of microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examinations.
Understands axial, coronal, and sagittal anatomy as well as normal human anatomy and physiology.
Enters data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of CT into computer.
Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters/receivers into computer.
Observes patient through window of control room to monitor patient's safety, comfort and informs physician of changes in patient's condition during an exam.
Views images of area being scanned on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures.
Relates to patients and their families in a positive manner and provides excellent patient care.
Alerts staff entering magnet room to danger of wearing or carrying metal around magnet.
Understands contraindications and potential hazards of different exams.
Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general population.
General department duties
Must be able to work independently and without direct supervision.
Maintains a clean and caring environment at all times.
Orders supplies and restocks rooms.
Assists other techs when necessary.
Keeps records of examinations for departmental statistics and research.
Respects patient's rights to privacy and dignity.
Know hospital policies and the functions of other departments.
Reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time and gives priority to stat requisitions.
Consistently completes and maintains assigned duties.
Wears identification while on duty.
Keeps appearance neat and clean.
Performs department clerical duties
Schedules in- and out-patient for examinations and procedures, providing instructions for patient preparations.
Provides courteous and responsive communication to patients while on phone and in person.
Makes copies of patient exams on CD or film as requested.
Inputs and/or completes charges for patient examinations in E.H.R. system.
Maintains daily log of exams.
Cooperates with staff to achieve department goals and prepare patients for procedures.
Maintains a positive work climate through effective communication and over all team effort.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements
Requires:
Current Montana Radiology Technologist License

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Experience using PACS System
Basic experience using computers
Possesses a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
