Job Summary

The Advanced Field Service Engineer II repairs, maintains, tests, and calibrates complex diagnostic imaging equipment. This ensures safe and proper operation. These systems include CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Angio Cath systems. Maximizes patient safety by ensuring proper use and performance of patient care equipment.

Essential Functions of the Role

Performs scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) following hospital policies, procedures, and industry standards. Uses specialized test equipment, tools, and simulation devices.Maintains, services, troubleshoots, and calibrates complex diagnostic imaging systems. Uses manufacturer service manuals, schematic diagrams, and vendor expertise. Identifies the best repair method based on clinical need and cost.Document all service events, performance tests, and corrective maintenance. Follow department policy using computerized maintenance management and standard office software.Accountable for ordering repair parts, timely return of applicable repair parts, and timely submission of applicable order-related documentation.Helps with assigned projects, related to the installation, relocation, and disposal of medical imaging equipment/systems.Communicates effectively with customers using various tools. Establishes rapport with staff and keeps clinical staff and management informed of repair status.Communicates and works in conjunction with imaging equipment service providers to facilitate efficient equipment installs and repairs.Participates in and/or helps with development of departmental and hospital-based continuous quality improvement initiatives.Recommends improvements to PM schedule frequency, testing procedures and/or documentation forms.Participates in and/or helps with development of departmental and hospital-based continuous quality improvement initiatives.Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record for the last 5 years.Must be able to travel between all Baylor Scott and White facilities as assigned.Must stay overnight when traveling over 2 hours in one direction, if deemed necessary by HTM management.Must maintain the assigned Baylor Scott and White owned vehicle under BSWH policy.Must make every effort to protect and secure the assigned BSWH vehicle and contents at all times.Must comply with all state laws and parking regulations while operating the assigned BSWH vehicle.Must accurately maintain a truck inventory of parts, tools and test equipment on a monthly basis.Must take part in the on-call rotation for the specified specialty or HTM geography as assigned.Must have a fully functioning smartphone. BSWH will provide a stipend for it to respond to all calls and work orders.Must cover small travel expenses, which BSWH will reimburse based on their policy.

EDUCATION - Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualificationEXPERIENCE - 4 Years of ExperienceCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Drivers License (TXDL): Must have a Texas driver's license or obtain within 90 days of hire.
