You help implement the operational excellence program in a specific function and/or for cross-functional continuous improvement (CI) projects. You are not only responsible for applying CI tools and techniques for problem solving and performance improvement but more importantly, you help employees improve their CI skills and build their self-sufficiency.

How you will contribute

You will:

Provide training on CI tools and techniques to help drive teams through CI cycles. You will also coach employees to help them achieve their targetsIdentify process improvement needs with department leads, facilitate sessions and support execution of newly established improvementsOnce improvements are done, validate outcome benefits and support creation of new standards and qualification of members into new working processesBenchmark externally, ensuring where relevant that best practice and new tools are deployed in collaboration with internal partners

Strong coaching and facilitation skills — able to train and mentor site CI teams and line managers.Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from shop floor operators to senior leadership.Excellent communication and change management capabilities.Cultural awareness and sensitivity to operate across diverse teams within South Africa and potentially across Sub-Saharan Africa.Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, especially when driving cross-functional improvements.Willingness to travel regularly to different sites within South Africa and possibly the region.Proactive mindset with a continuous learning attitude.

Education / Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical field (Master’s degree is a plus).Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt minimum; Black Belt or Master Black Belt is strongly preferred.Additional certifications in Operational Excellence, TPM, or IL6S (Integrated Lean Six Sigma) are highly valued.7–10 years’ experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or operations — preferably in FMCG, Food & Beverage, or similar multinational industries.Minimum 3–5 years in a continuous improvement or lean management role, ideally at a regional or multi-site level.Proven experience implementing and sustaining IL6S, TPM, or Lean programs across multiple plants or BU.

Travel requirements:

Willingness to travel regularly to different sites within South Africa and possibly the BU.
