We are seeking talented Lead Engineer/Manager to join our team and lead the Marsh McLennan's Generative AI capability in India, in collaboration with the Award Winning Ireland Innovation Centre. As part of our internal incubator, you will have the chance to validate new technologies and ideas from across the business, build proof-of-concepts (POCs), develop pilot programs, and coordinate towards maturity before launching them into the wider MMC Tech teams for further development.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND VALUES:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role in a software development environment.

Strong technical background in software engineering, with expertise in one or more programming languages and frameworks.

Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

Solid understanding of delivery principles and methodologies.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

What makes you stand out:

Experience with a modern frontend framework ideally React (Vue, Angular are good too) 

Practical experience of NestJS / NodeJS or similar stack 

Experience with or knowledge of Python 

Strong knowledge of restful APIs 

Practical experience of Kubernetes and/or MongoDB 

Knowledge on LLM's 

Knowledge on prompt engineering techniques 

Knowledge on RAG

Manage and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring their professional growth and development. 

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. 

Maintain a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the projects and provide guidance to the team when needed. 

Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork among team members and cross-functional teams. 

Allocate resources effectively, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools, equipment, and support to deliver high-quality work. 

Collaborate with stakeholders, such as product managers and executives, to align engineering efforts with business goals and priorities. 

Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and productivity. 

Identify and mitigate risks that may impact project timelines, quality, or budget. 

Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and recognize achievements to motivate and retain top talent. 

Eligibility:

Minimum 12 months experience as a Associate DirectorShould have at least “On Track” or equivalent rating in last appraisalShould not be under any Performance Continuity Plan, or had any official Disciplinary action within the last 3 monthsShould not have applied for any other IJP within Mercer in the last 3 month
