(IGT) Tool & Die Tech C - 2nd/3rd/Weekend shifts

Qualifications:  

 

High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.TCAT or another vocational approved equivalent CertificationComputer competency and knowledge preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:          

 

Basic machining/shop equipment knowledge and skills preferredWelding preferredBasic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics Experience running an overhead crane, mobile equipment, and V stacker.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

 

Some heavy lifting up to 35 lbs., Operation of Mobile and shop equipmentAbility to use jeweler’s glasses and 10 power inspection loopsAbility to stand and/or sit for extended amounts of time

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

 

Good mechanical understanding and skills Good math skills Good ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions Communicate well in written form.Good hand eye coordination

 

 

Other tools and equipment used on the job include but are not limited to the following:

 

Drill presses, grinding machines, welders, ultra-sonic cleaners, pneumatic impact wrenches, pneumatic die grinders, hand tools, stamps, measuring tools, band saws, die cleaning equipment, drill and tool sharpening machines, machinist tools, computers, and overhead cranes.

JOB SUMMARY:

Willingness to work as a team player to complete a task.Work under the supervision of senior techs to disassemble and reassemble single plane as well as multi-plane core dies. Under the direction of senior techs begin to understand the trouble shooting of tooling issues.Under the direction of senior techs, assist with the execution of their job functions such as assisting with the setting up of machine tools, cleaning of tooling, and machines used within the process.  Candidates must have the flexibility to work any shift and any day. This position requires overtime and standard work hours on weekdays as well as weekends.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a high attendance recordSelf-Starter whom performs work safely and efficiently to complete a task.Preventive maintenance of single-plane and multi-plane core dies.Monitor die wear and shot historyPerform minor repairs on core dies and DME Alert Engineers/Tool Room Supervision of any die repair/rework neededAbides by plant safety rules and promotes safety awareness in and out of the plant. Obtain a good selection of hand tools as well as basic machinist toolsAnalyzes die, fixture, and gauge problems and offer solutionsUses all tool room inspection equipment for die and fixture inspectionPerforms moderate machining per instructions Under the direction of senior techs begin training in minor bench repairs and the 2nd End of Run process.Maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and safe conditionShow the ability to obtain and utilize in depth knowledge of basic toolingPerforms other duties as required such as packaging of tooling for shipment.Performs other duties as requiredAttend training functions, possibly including after work study and /or travel to obtain technology updates.
