Responsibilities

As an IDMS Mainframe Database Administrator (Part Time) you will have the opportunity to do the following: Database Management: Manage IDMS databases, ensuring optimal performance, integrity, and security.

System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including patch updates and configuration changes.Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement effective database backup and recovery strategies.Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve database issues in a timely manner.Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and conduct tuning to optimize efficiency.Collaboration: Work with application developers and system administrators to contribute to database design and system architecture.Compliance and Security: Ensure databases comply with industry standards and security protocols.Capacity Planning: Anticipate and plan for future database capacity requirements.Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.

 

Qualifications 4+ years' experience as an IDMS Database Administrator with broad experience with legacy versions of Mainframe Server platforms.Experience and certification with COBOL a plus.DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.CompTIA Security + certification. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
