Join us, and help bring innovation to life. **Your role and responsibilities** The IBM events team plans and executes best-in-class virtual, in-person and hybrid events that deliver new pipeline, build brand awareness, and offer outstanding attendee experiences. Delivering great client events involves many stakeholders and the event strategist role provides critical services and consulting, playing a key role by partnering across functions to ensure event compliance and audit readiness. As part of this broader events mission, the IBM Global Conference team's scope is end-to-end execution of Think and TechXchange global conferences, the two annual IBM flagship conferences for clients and partners. Furthermore - the team also builds the strategy, content and support for the execution of Think and TechXchange regional experiences. This open role is dedicated to lead and support the implementation of the TechXchange regional program for executing technical sales workshops around the world. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about B2B events, has a good understanding of event process and can lead multiple projects at the same time, has strong project management and communication skills, is detail and goal orientated, self-driven, and is a motivated event strategist eager to learn and grow in the company. - The candidate will be required to operate at strategic level, focusing on overall process and planning for TechXchange regional workshop execution - with the goal to achieve business outcomes and deliver on technical sales engagements locally; sets clear process for execution, including but not limited to communicating strategy & process implementation, budget management and budget assignment to geographies, executional excellence guidelines and requirements as well as workload alignment across other team members supporting this mission - Acts as a team lead for the rest of the team members, as well as POC for the geography business leaders, managing their expectations and understanding of the process, collecting feedback and communicating needs, status and improvement ideas. · - Partners with other team members, operations and key stakeholders to help define objectives, target audiences, event plan, timelines and deliverables for regional experiences around the world. · - Executes, in partnership with other team members, on tools and processes required to execute quarterly TechXchange regional experiences, partnering with local tech sellers who will be on site driving the invitation process, content, event execution and post-event follow-up. · - Manages post event outcomes and performance with relevant stakeholders, measuring impact and communicating areas of growth/ identifying changes and updates required in the process, to be more efficient and effective. · - Ensures all legal, compliance, procurement, finance, and other required processes are efficiently completed · - Partners with the global conference team to contribute to conference event workstream execution across TechXchange Global conference - exact tasks to be discussed and assigned during the pre-planning phase of the yearly TechXchange global conference. Examples of workstreams: tools and process implementation, registration and nominations, surround events, food & beverage, sponsorship fulfillment, food & beverage, housing, show-floor execution, etc. **Required technical and professional expertise** · Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication, Business Administration or equivalent experience. · Five (5) years or more experience in marketing or related role; Three to five years or more experience in planning and executing a wide range of B2B events · Responsible team player with a demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, managing resources and several projects simultaneously · Strong project management and organizational skills, including attention to detail and adherence to deadlines · Avid learner who consistently expands knowledge to gain new skills and expertise · Experience with event technology systems such as registration sites, event management platforms and mobile apps · Outcomes focused: strategic thinker that drives ROI and audience first mentality across the team; Ability to manage resources (time and budget) to achieve objectives, predict needs and prevent issues · Communication / Negotiation: partners well across functions, effectively utilizing group dynamics and negotiating to define approaches and goals; has strong written and verbal communication skills · Problem Solving: applies creativity and judgement to manage work on different projects within the business environment. · Analytics/ Data driven: employing a data driven approach to decision making and recommendations, based on event performance analysis; **Preferred technical and professional experience** · Master’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing/ event management or related discipline · Experience using RainFocus or similar event platforms IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
