We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Email Engineer with deep expertise in enterprise email infrastructure and a solid understanding of AI tools and capabilities This role requires a deep understanding of Microsoft Exchange (both on-prem and online, email security tools, Outlook and experience supporting large Microsoft Exchange environments. The ideal candidate will also be AI-educated, capable of leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and lead efforts to implement AI-driven capabilities within the email service domain.
This position MUST be flexible to work during US business hours (8am - 5pm CST)
Primary Responsibilities:
Administer and support Microsoft Exchange (On-Prem and Exchange Online) environmentsManage and support Microsoft Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange environmentsOversee mailbox provisioning, transport rules, retention policies, and service configurationsPerform lifecycle management including upgrades, patching, and decommissioning of legacy componentsProvide Level 3 support for Outlook-related issues across desktop, mobile, and web platformsTroubleshoot complex client connectivity, performance, and configuration issuesDevelop and maintain support documentation and resolution playbooksMonitor and maintain email infrastructure health, performance, and availabilityParticipate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement initiativesIdentify and remediate vulnerabilities within the messaging environmentEnsure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirementsUse AI tools to automate diagnostics, streamline support workflows, and enhance operational efficiencyUnderstand AI capabilities and their relevance to email service managementRecommend and implement AI-driven enhancements such as intelligent monitoring, predictive analytics, and automated remediationWork closely with global team to ensure consistent service delivery across regionsEnforce messaging-related governance, standards, and best practicesStay current with emerging technologies in messaging, collaboration, and AIComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). 7+ years of experience in Microsoft Exchange administration in large-scale enterprise environmentsExperience with hybrid Exchange deployments and M365 suite integrationHands-on experience with email security platforms such as ProofpointSolid proficiency in Outlook client support and troubleshootingDeep understanding of email protocols (SMTP, POP, IMAP), encryption, and authenticationFamiliarity with vulnerability management tools and practicesFamiliarity with AI platforms and automation tools relevant to IT operationsRegular user of AI tools to improve productivity and service operationsProven solid analytical and problem-solving skillsProven ability to comprehend and apply AI capabilities to enhance email servicesProven excellent communication and collaboration abilitiesProven ability to work independently and in a global team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate or equivalentAI-related certifications (e.g., Microsoft AI Fundamentals, Azure AI Engineer Associate)ITIL Foundation or higher certificationExperience supporting geographically distributed teams and services
