We're looking for a facilities Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in Santa Clara, CA who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. As an I&C Engineer, you will be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You will provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will produce designs for electrical circuits and panels utilizing control applications, designs for control systems for a variety of processes, and develop options and optimizations for all aspects of the process control, instrumentation, and automation. Bring your curiosity, talent for multi-tasking and collaboration, and extreme organizational skills and we’ll help you grow, pursue and fulfill what drives you - so we can make big impacts on the world, together. * Bachelor's or equivalent vocational degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering * At least 4 years of experience working with Instrumentation and Control * Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate * Experience directly programming PLC’s, HMI and SCADA Systems * Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications * User level experience with AutoCAD computer drafting software * Experience developing P&IDs * Experience sizing valves and specifying instrumentation in industrial facilities * Knowledge of design and construction specifications * Experience working in construction environments including field verifications * Ability to work onsite in Santa Clara, CA Ideally, you’ll also have: * Professional Engineer with the State of California * Preference given to working experience with GE / Emerson and Allen Bradley PLC’s and software * Understanding of industrial network design and components * Knowledge of industrial control panel design * Working knowledge of 3D BIM software (Revit) * Strong communication skills both verbal and written * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas * Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base * Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams * Passion for buildings and construction Other Requirements: Location: * This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Santa Clara/Sunnyvale, CA. * Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours - nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference. Physical Requirements: * Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs.
