Job Description:
Parsons is seeking an exceptionally talented Hydrogeologist to join our team in Oakville, Ontario! In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to support both infrastructure projects and contaminated sites, including groundwater modeling, groundwater, construction dewatering management and permit applications.
What You'll Be Doing:
You will be expected to independently use your current hydrogeological and contaminant fate and transport experience to apply a wide variety of geological and/or hydrogeological principles during work plan development and bidding, field oversight and guidance, conceptual, analytical and numerical modelling, and reporting.
Supports infrastructure and contaminated site projects mainly in Ontario. Typical projects include hydrogeological assessments to support new construction, rehabilitation and/or expansion of:Roads and HighwaysStorm and Sanitary SewersWatermainsBridges and structuresDevelops, coordinates and project manages hydrogeological and environmental site assessments and groundwater monitoring programs Supporting contaminant transport modeling, groundwater monitoring and sampling programs, project management on environmental site assessments and excess soil management projects, as required.Develops comprehensive geological models through data analysis and interpretation.Works individually or as part of a team to interpret geologic and hydrogeologic data to build conceptual models of the groundwater regimes including contaminated sites.Prepares permitting and documentation associated with Permits to Take Water (PTTW)/Environmental Activity and Sector Registry (EASR) and discharge agreements.Scopes and/or executes monitoring programs for construction phases of infrastructure projects.Assists in the preparation of proposals and cost estimates.Support decision making during field investigations, preparation and review of reports, including reviewing overall accuracy, geologic analyses, assessments and interpretations.Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Earth Sciences or related field.5+ years of related work experience completed hydrogeological assessments, groundwater modeling, groundwater quality sampling and monitoring, and/or completing environmental site assessments.Proficient in computer software applications, typically used in hydrogeological analysis.A good understanding of Ontario regulatory frameworks including Ontario Regulations 169/03, 287/04, 153/01 and O.Reg. 406/19 under the Ontario Water Resources and Environmental Protection Acts.Proficient in applying hydrogeologic and geologic theories and practices.Knowledge of groundwater flow models, contaminant transport and model management (e.g., Modflow or equivalent ).Analyze and interpret data including pumping test results, aquifer response, surface water, and groundwater interactionAbility to perform work duties independently and in team environments.Ability to monitor and guide the work of others.Registered Professional Geoscientist or eligible within 1 year.What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
