Turner Specialty Services is looking for a Hydroblasting Crew Lead for turnaround work in the Lake Charles, LA area. The Hydroblaster position involves directing blasts of abrasive-laden compressed air or water from a nozzle against metal or hard composite objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart an even finish.\n\nPer diem included\nJob duration: 2-3 months\n\n

Essential Qualifications:\n\nHigh school or equivalent\nMinimum three (3) years of experience required\nTWIC card required\nBasic knowledge of hydro blasting equipment and the hazards associated with\nMay require NCCER certifications at some jobsites\nWritten pre-employment qualification test\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation\nHazard Communication orientation\/test\nTurner Industries Group, LLC Indoctrination\nOSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87)\nJob site orientation\nJob site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)\nSafety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)\nApplicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace\n\n

Functional Requirements: \n\nMoves controls to adjust pressure and concentration of grit to obtain specified finish\nWears gloves and a helmet or hood to protect against breathing sand-laden air and to prevent injury to eyes and hands\nMay mask areas not being sandblasted\nMay order materials as needed\nPerform additional assignments per supervisor's direction\n\n

Physical Involvement: \n

May be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and\/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing \/ sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching\/squatting; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; stepstool use; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment\n
