We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Hydraulics Mechanic to join a leading Company located in the North Charleston, SC surrounding area.
The primary responsibility of the Hydraulic Mechanic is to provide expert troubleshooting, evaluation, repair, and assembly services for varying cylinders, pumps, motors, and power units.
Responsibilities:Diagnose problems and present recommendations for repairsUse schematics and diagnostic equipment to investigate hydraulic or pneumatic system problemsTear down, evaluate, and repair cylinders, pumps, motors, and power unitsInspect parts and various componentsDetermine if parts are eligible for reconditioning and write service reportsReassemble components when repairs are complete and prepare for return to customersReassemble components when repair is complete and prepare for delivery to the customer
Basic Hiring Criteria:Minimum of five years fluid power experience (hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or electro-mechanical) or equivalent training
Desired Qualifications:Ability to read hydraulic schematicsAbility to fully understand hydraulic systems - size and build - preferredBasic mechanical abilities and/or formal mechanical trainingAbility to use a variety of hand tools and operate jib cranes and forklifts without assistanceAbility to use various tools for measurement (micrometer, id micrometer, and calipers)Ability to troubleshoot and properly diagnose failures of hydraulic systems and componentsAbility to identify a wide range of fluid power manufacturers and to recognize their products and complete initial parts quotingRegularly required to walk, sit, stand, crouch, and lift up to 75 pounds requiredOvertime may be required during extended weekday hours or for plant shutdowns on weekends or during call rotationInternational Fluid Power Society (IFPS) certification is a plus
