Job DescriptionAECOM has a position available for a Civil Engineer to join our Transportation Construction Business Line supporting large multi-year projects located in Raleigh, NC.
Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Prepares and reviews working drawings, drainage plans, cost estimates, drainage studies and technical reportsGathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures with a focus on highway drainage design and hydraulicsWorks on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. Design and analysis of drainage design, hydraulic structures and erosion controlProposes approach to solve new problems encounteredIdentifies discrepancies in resultsProvides guidance to entry level engineersPerforms work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervisionAssists in the preparation of environmental impact assessments and mitigation plans for highway projectsCollaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of civil engineering elements with other aspects of project designUtilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify engineering drawings and plansParticipates in site visits and field inspections to gather data and assess existing conditionsContributes to the development of project specifications and contract documentsAssists in the coordination with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsQualificationsMinimum Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationDue to the projects associated with the position a US Citizenship is requiredPreferred Qualifications:
2 plus years experience in drainage/hydraulics Experienced in concentration calculations, delineating drainage areas and analyzing/designing storm networksExperience in TransportationAdditional InformationBachelors degree in engineering or demonstrated equivalency of expereince and/or educationDue to the projects associated with the position a US Citizenship is requiredAbout AECOM
