HVAC Technician
Job Title: HVAC TechnicianJob Description

Join our team as an HVAC Technician, where you will be responsible for performing general, preventative, and emergency maintenance of facilities equipment. This role requires a strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and process systems operation and maintenance.

ResponsibilitiesPerform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on refrigeration units, air handling systems, chillers, and HVAC infrastructure.Monitor system performance using Building Management Systems (BMS).Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support HVAC needs in production and common space areas.Execute root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for recurring issues.Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and energy efficiency standards.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance, and parts inventory.Support commissioning of new systems and retrofits of existing infrastructure.Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, chillers, air handlers, VAVs, ductwork, thermostats, and control systems.Preferred experience in crane/rigging, motor replacements, pumps and fittings repair, and pipe replacement.Knowledge of Cooling Towers and RTUs, brazing and welding, mechanical emergency shutdown, CMMS, and refrigerants.Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and automated control systems.Essential Skills3+ years of hands-on experience with commercial/industrial refrigeration and air handling systems.EPA Universal Certification required; additional HVAC/R certifications a plus.Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and O&M manuals.Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-tech environments with minimal supervision.Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, safety-first mindset.Additional Skills & QualificationsCrane/rigging experience preferred.Experience with motor replacements, pumps, and fittings repair, and pipe replacement.Knowledge of Cooling Towers and RTUs, brazing and welding, mechanical emergency shutdown, CMMS, and refrigerants.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This position requires working onsite at the Kato Fremont location with occasional travel to the Fremont Factory as needed. You will be part of a team of 15 technicians, excluding engineers. The work schedule is from 6am to 3pm, including one weekend day for preventive maintenance. Be open to working different shifts once you become a direct hire.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
