Reporting to the Instrumentation Supervisor, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant refrigeration systems and related machinery.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Fabricate and assemble structural and functional components of refrigeration system, using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Insulate shells and cabinets of systems.
Braze or solder parts to repair defective joints and leaks.
Comply with classification and prioritization system for completion of work order.
Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
Comply with every approved operation and maintenance procedure.
Perform with maintenance planners as schedule workload.
To perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment to sustain its availability and reliability for production or support.
Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments and tooling for example Megger, multimeters, etc.
Read blueprints to determine location, size, capacity, and type of components needed to build refrigeration system.
Maintain a professional work ethic through effective, honest communication with supervisors, peers, and operations personnel always.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment, to like new appearance, according to maintenance plans and established procedures.
Actively participate in maintaining good housekeeping in the Electrical workshop and walkways
Ensure personnel and team compliance with statutory acts and regulations and consent conditions.
Cleanliness and maintenance of the machine tools.
Adherence to safe working practices and capture of safe working documents, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Toolbox Talks, FLRA 5, Plant Permits and Electrical Isolation Permits.
Demonstrate awareness of safety practices throughout all areas of the Site.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
Diploma or Technician certificate in Refrigeration from a recognized Institution.
Three years’ experience as a Refrigeration Technician from a recognized organization
Ability to show initiative and have good interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in the use of CMMS Systems (e.g. Pronto/SAP), MS Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and budgeting solutions
Must be able to read, evaluate and respond to parts specifications and drawings.
Have a good understanding of rules, regulations and company policy as regards to workshop Machinery and Accessories.
