Join our Facilities Services team as an HVAC Technician I, where you’ll put your skills to work installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and cooling systems. You'll play a key role in keeping our buildings running smoothly—whether that’s fixing a faulty A/C or diagnosing a tricky electrical issue.
This role is ideal for someone who’s hands-on, detail-oriented, and ready to tackle challenges independently or as part of a top-notch team.
What You’ll Be Doing (Major Responsibilities & Functions)Keep it cool (or warm): Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including diagnosing and fixing electrical, mechanical, and electronic components.
Inspections & tours: Conduct regular building walkthroughs to spot and address maintenance issues—or coordinate with others to get the job done.
Preventive maintenance: Stay ahead of breakdowns by keeping systems in top shape.
Work solo or team up: You should feel confident flying solo or collaborating with coworkers to complete larger tasks.
Be flexible: Schedules are mostly steady, but you may be called on for nights or weekends to handle emergencies.
Vehicle ready: Keep your company vehicle in good working order—refueled, stocked, and ready to roll.
Safety first: Follow all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout and proper use of PPE.
Stay organized: Maintain accurate records—especially refrigerant usage, system specs, test results, and inventory.
Tech-savvy troubleshooting: Diagnose service issues, source parts, calibrate systems, and clearly explain fixes to management.
Stay sharp: Take advantage of company-provided training on the latest HVAC technology and best practices.
Look for opportunities: Spot ways to enhance our service—whether that’s suggesting equipment upgrades or flagging additional maintenance needs.
Pitch in where needed: Flexibility is key. You may be asked to help out in other trades or departments depending on the day’s needs.
Manage your time: Complete work orders efficiently, and accurately log materials and hours used.
What We’re Looking For (Position Specifications)Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certificate or two-year degree in HVAC/R from a trade or community college is a big plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CFC Certification (Universal or Type II).
Valid driver’s license.
Experience:
1–3 years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and service troubleshooting.
Skills:
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
Excellent customer service mindset—you enjoy helping people and exceeding expectations.
Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentPhysical Requirements:
You’ll need to be comfortable standing, walking, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Good hand-eye coordination and vision focus are important.
Work Conditions:
Moderate noise levels.
You may occasionally be exposed to potentially infectious environments and should follow all health and safety protocols.
