What this job involves:
As an HVAC Technician at JLL, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and monitoring of HVAC and mechanical systems in assigned facilities. You will support the operation and efficiency of critical heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment—including chillers, boilers, air handling units, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, VAV boxes, and other related systems. Your work helps ensure safe, comfortable, and compliant environments for JLL’s clients.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Perform operations, repairs, and maintenance of all HVAC systems and equipment, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air handling units, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and VAV boxesConduct predictive, planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of HVAC systems; perform equipment rounds and service requests as directedTroubleshoot and respond to a wide range of mechanical problems; repair equipment using proper safety equipment and proceduresConduct visual and operational inspections, interpret specifications, blueprints, and job standards to execute assigned dutiesDocument problems encountered and communicate via electronic work order systems, email, chat, and voice communicationsOperate systems in compliance with government regulations and standard operating proceduresAssist with the development and improvement of preventive maintenance programs, schedules, SOPs, and proceduresRecommend measures to improve equipment performance and suggest changes to enhance department efficiencyPerform general labor services, including cleaning and organizing designated work areasComplete training and demonstrate competency in equipment monitoring and operational checksComply with policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplaceMaintain compliance with all relevant codes, laws, and regulationsInteract positively with team members, vendors, and internal/external customers while fostering teamwork and a positive environmentWork independently as required and follow escalation policies appropriatelyActively participate in technical and safety training programsPerform additional duties as directedRequired Qualifications:
High school diploma required; completion of a trade school or apprentice program preferredMinimum 5+ years of experience in HVAC systems, building engineering, technical aspects of machinery, plumbing, electrical, equipment repair, and maintenanceAbility to read and understand mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, equipment specifications, and O&M manualsExperience with building/system controlsEPA Universal 608 certification requiredValid driver’s license requiredExcellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly in oral and written formPreferred Qualifications:
Mechanical licensesWorking knowledge of CMMS systemsKnowledge and Skills:
Basic PC competency and familiarity with communication applicationsStrong oral and written communication abilities (concise and timely)Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Wear appropriate PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, arc flash protection, fall protection, etc.)Able to work overtime and participate in on-call program; flexible with shifts and hoursAble to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work at heights as requiredAble to crawl, kneel, stoop, and work in small/confined spacesLocation:
