HVAC Supervisor
Overview

***This position will be physically located in The Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP*** 

 

The HVAC Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the HVAC Shop. Will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for HVAC/R systems on assigned locations. The HVAC Supervisor provides technical/operational guidance and supervision to the HVAC leads & HVAC technicians to ensure compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the following functions: installation, inspection, maintenance and trouble-shooting of industrial HVAC equipment such as boilers and chillers, light commercial units to include, package, DX and split units and residential units to include split, mini-split and window units.

Oversees the HVAC preventive maintenance and corrective service programSupervises HVAC personnel and participates in the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems to ensure that the work performed is in compliance with the PWS, blueprints, manufacturer specifications, and written/verbal instructionsPlan, schedule, and assign work and crews to ensure adequate resources for efficient performance of dutiesMonitor jobs to ensure quality and compliance with standards, update HVAC records, report on performance, and resolve issuesProvides leadership and mentors personnel to develop appropriate skillsetsPerform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)Must be a U.S. CitizenMust possess a high school diploma or equivalentHVAC/R Trade certification or proof of training/competencyEPA Section 608 Universal Certification requiredMechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceA valid US Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s LicenseMust have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oralSkills:Able and willing to perform other duties as needed, as skills and program allow. Knowledge and understanding of the US Army Public Works system and procedures is preferredKnowledge of the US Army supply and procurement process is preferredAbility to demonstrate leadership and management skills in a professional demeanorAbility to work effectively with employees and management of all levels to include multi-national staff, superiors, and senior military officersStrong interpersonal and negotiation skillsCollaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamworkAbility to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretionAbility to prioritize responsibilities in order to handle a demanding workloadAbility to anticipate internal client needsProficient in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook applicationsHigh-level organization and planning skills so workflow is managed efficiently and accuratelyAbility to read, analyze, and interpret reports/documentsSupervisory Responsibilities:Preferred Supervisory experience and two to three years of experience managing entry-level employees.Physical Requirements:Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
