HVAC/Refrigeration Technician - Grade 1 (3rd Shift)What this job involves:

At JLL, we are seeking a skilled HVAC/Refrigeration Technician (Grade 1) to join our 3rd shift team. In this role, you will apply advanced knowledge of HVAC systems in large facilities to investigate, diagnose, and remedy complex problems with precision and efficiency. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing diverse systems while maintaining our commitment to excellence. What your day-to-day will look like:Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, electric, and electronic controls and equipment using proper testing equipment while following technical drawings and manualsInstall new or refurbished equipment using appropriate construction tools and techniquesCharge and start up large chiller systems with complete attention to detail and safety protocolsDiagnose and address HVAC electrical components on chillers, rooftop units, fan units, and related systemsRepair and rebuild pumps and compressors to ensure optimal performanceRecover refrigerant from systems, charge systems properly, and diagnose problems within refrigeration systemsService and repair both residential and commercial refrigeration equipmentWork with building automation systems (BAS) to diagnose and resolve system issuesTroubleshoot and repair ice machines and kitchen equipment as neededSupport the team through your expertise and collaborative approach to problem-solvingRequired Qualifications:High School diploma or GEDCompletion of a 4-year apprenticeship program and/or equivalent experienceCFC certificationComprehensive knowledge of pneumatic controls, instruments, and automatic dampersUnderstanding of air flows and air balancing in large institutional settingsKnowledge of large compressor operations and pressure/temperature relationshipsProficiency with water and steam systemsExperience with air compressor functions and repairsAbility to recover refrigerant, charge systems, and diagnose refrigeration problemsComplete set of hand tools necessary for the tradePreferred Qualifications:Expertise with various refrigerants and their applicationsSkill in silver soldering, soft soldering, and sill flos techniquesKitchen equipment experienceWorking knowledge of computer and DDC controlsAbility to diagnose and repair rooftop AC unitsExperience reading blueprints, diagrams, and schematicsUnderstanding of federal, state, and local codes relevant to the tradeStrong communication skills and team-oriented mindset

Estimated total compensation for this position:

99,673.00 – 99,673.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
