Job Overview:
Under the directions of the department Director, the HVAC Mechanic maintains and repairs air conditioning, refrigeration and heating equipment, including but not limited to: Split A/C systems, rooftop units, walk-in refrigerators/freezers, ice machines, and electronic controls. Maintain all building functions on patient floors and patient rooms, delivers timely and efficient building services to staff, patients, and visitors. Utilizes skills to perform work as directed by a lead, manager, or director. Performs other related duties as required.

High School Diploma or GED EquivalentPossess proper certificates or licenses related to his/her particular skill.Have a New Jersey driver's license and a New Jersey blue seal stationary license or better.Completion of an acceptable apprentice program at a vocational or technical school is required.Ability to read, write and speak English.Must have the ability to perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and lifting.Knowledge of resolving problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.Preferred:

Full-Time: 40.00 hrs.Shift: NightHours: 11:00p.m to 7:00a.m.Essential Functions:
Provide on-call maintenance coverage for repairs and other emergencies or scheduled projects.Assist electricians with troubleshooting and necessary repairs, as well as installation of new electrical service.Respond to work in any work discipline as requested by the Engineering Director, Supervisors, or Lead mechanics.Perform routine electrical repairs of existing light fixtures, receptacles, motors, etc.Install and repair locks, doors, windows, and screens; perform general carpentry work.Paint and plasterwork as required.Perform routine and preventative maintenance on non-clinical hospital equipment and inspect the equipment for safety; repair or replace broken or worn parts as required.Repair and install plumbing fixtures, sinks, toilets, and drain lines; clean and rebuild traps and strainers.Provide necessary repairs for refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating equipment with supervision.Review, repair, maintain and install typical plant equipment such as pumps, motors, air compressors, valves, etc.Maintain skills in one or more of the major service functions [i.e. skilled tradesman in carpentry, electrician, plumber, H. V.
