HVAC Engineer- (Full-Time)
**Description:** As an HVAC Engineer at UPMC Washington, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your expertise in designing, maintaining, and optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems will directly contribute to the hospital's operational efficiency and patient care quality. Join us in this vital position where your skills will make a tangible difference in the health and well-being of our community. **Responsibilities:** + Perform repairs, service, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration equipment under supervision. + Demonstrate competency in core HVAC Engineer skills and responsibilities. + Accurately report information to department team members for appropriate care. + Complete technical skills and procedures as delegated, ensuring safety and compliance. + Coordinate care/services with peers, physicians, and ancillary services. + Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA rules and regulations. + Solve problems effectively with timely, good decisions. + Document care/work following established standards and protocols. + Participate in in-services and departmental meetings to stay updated. + Collaborate with patients/families to provide patient-centered care and service excellence. Shift: Monday-Friday; 7AM-3:30PM. (Can be on call as needed). May need to travel to other locations. + High school diploma or GED equivalent required + Associates Degree with emphasis in Mechanical engineering or completion of HVAC Technical School Program or relative experience, as listed below, required. + Stationary Engineer License or Refrigeration/Air Conditioning License preferred + Five (5) or more years as a HVAC Engineer with progressively responsible experience working with complex HVAC systems and equipment including chillers, boilers, package units, split systems, heat pumps, VAV systems, DDC and pneumatic, automated control systems, and medical gas systems is preferred **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + Maintains current valid refrigeration and air conditioning certification as a universal technician as required by 40 CFR Part 82 Subpart F through the proper refrigeration practices from the Refrigeration Services Engineers Society. + Valid driver's license required without any MVR Violations during the most recent time period + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting + Act 33 + Act 34 + Act 73 FBI Clearance **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
