What this job involves:

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Engineer to join our facilities management team. This role is responsible for maintenance, repair, and optimization of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems at assigned client facility. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal indoor air quality and climate control while supporting our commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Maintenance & Operations

Operate and maintain all HVAC equipment including chillers, air handling units, and rooftop units and related equipmentDevelop and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance schedulesPerform preventive maintenance on HVAC systemsConduct routine inspections and testing of HVAC systems and componentsMonitor building automation systems (BAS) and respond to alarms and alertsMaintain accurate maintenance logs and service recordsCoordinate with Chief Engineer on HVAC system priorities and projectsCommunicate HVAC issues and recommendations to Chief EngineerMaintain inventory of critical HVAC spare parts and suppliesAssist Chief Engineer with HVAC asset tracking in CorrigoSupport General Engineers with HVAC-related and other building issues as needed

Troubleshooting & Repair

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issuesReplace defective components including motors, belts, filters, and controlsPerform emergency repairs to minimize disruptionCoordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed

Energy Management

Optimize system performance to maximize energy efficiencyMonitor and analyze energy consumption dataImplement energy conservation measures and best practicesSupport sustainability initiatives and green building certifications

Safety & Compliance

Ensure all work complies with local codes, regulations, and JLL safety standardsMaintain EPA certification and handle refrigerants in accordance with regulationsParticipate in safety training programs and maintain clean safety recordFollow lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 poundsComfortable working in confined spaces and at heightsAbility to work in various weather conditionsManual dexterity for handling tools and equipment

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalentEPA Universal CertificationMinimum 3-5 years of commercial HVAC experienceExperience with building automation systems (Trane, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, etc.)Knowledge of chillers, boilers, rooftop units, and air handlersExperience with preventive maintenance programsProficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsStrong electrical troubleshooting abilitiesFamiliarity with energy management systemsBasic computer skills and ability to use mobile devices/tablets

Preferred Qualifications

Technical degree or vocational training in HVAC preferred
