HVAC Controls Technician II

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time Controls Technician II.  In this role, you will be responsible for installation, programming, and service of commercial building digital control systems. These responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments.  The Building Automation Systems (BAS) you will be installing and servicing includes but is not limited to Daikin branded controls or third-party controls system.  Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!

What you will do: 

Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationshipsIdentify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systemsPerform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customersMaintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programmingProvide controls technical support to HVAC techniciansCreate and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projectsCommission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specificationsRecord and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely mannerInteract and train customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call and explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiencesParticipate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheldFollow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications: 

High School Diploma or GEDTechnical training and 3+ years of equivalent combination of education and experienceValid Driver’s License and acceptable driving recordRotational Emergency Call Support as requiredRequired license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industryProficiency with test instruments and calibration toolsCompetency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentalsCompetency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controlsAbility to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagramsNiagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certificationExperience with any common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP / RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQLStrong computer skills, including computer networking fundamentalsOSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)Current first aid / CPR card

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $31.60 - $48.90 in Florida.    Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
