Job Description SummaryThe Technical Apprentice supports licensed HVAC mechanics and electricians in performing inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations for building systems. This role involves hands-on work across multiple technical disciplines, including HVAC, electrical systems, and general maintenance. The apprentice ensures compliance with safety standards, assists in troubleshooting, and contributes to energy efficiency initiatives. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to learn advanced technical skills.Job DescriptionPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:Assist licensed HVAC and electrical professionals with inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs.Service air conditioning systems and components (compressors, condensers, valves, coils, motors, fans, filters, ducts, etc.).Perform routine and emergency HVAC/electrical repairs and troubleshoot system malfunctions.Interpret engineering drawings and equipment manuals; replace parts or entire systems as needed.Recommend system improvements and pursue energy conservation opportunities.Maintain accurate service records and work logs.Comply with OSHA, client, and company safety standards; maintain a clean and safe work area.Support additional tasks such as requisitioning supplies, meeting setups, moving furniture, and general maintenance.Use hand tools, measuring instruments, and other equipment to complete assignments.Work overtime as required.Operating Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Familiarity with electrical codes, theory, and national electric codes.Comfortable working with computers and automated control systems.Positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.Training & Education Requirements:High School diploma, GED, or technical school equivalent.Electrician license from local jurisdiction.Experience Requirements:Minimum of 1 year in a technical capacity preferred.Other Qualifications & Physical Requirements:Must pass a criminal background check.Ability to climb ladders and stairs; lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $20.40 - $24.00
