Human Resources (HR) Manager
Description Job Description We are seeking a hands-on, experienced HR Manager to oversee human resources operations for our manufacturing facility with approximately 160 employees. This role combines administrative HR responsibilities with strategic oversight to ensure compliance, employee engagement, and the smooth execution of HR functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing HR processes in a manufacturing environment and a demonstrated ability to effectively manage workers' compensation and related activities. Note: While not required, being bilingual in Spanish and having experience with Paylocity or a similar HRIS platform is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities HR Leadership and Administration Lead, develop, and manage all HR initiatives, ensuring alignment with the business goals of the manufacturing plant. Oversee employee file management to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Provide day-to-day HR guidance to team leads and employees regarding workplace matters and company policies. Workers' Compensation Oversight Manage all aspects of workers’ compensation claims, including prompt filing, follow-up, and liaising with insurance representatives and healthcare providers. Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations and partner with operational leadership to promote a safe work environment. Policy Compliance & Reporting Ensure adherence to labor laws, OSHA standards, and other employment regulations. Develop and maintain HR reporting metrics, including turnover, workers’ comp, and training compliance. Recruitment and Onboarding (Light Focus) Assist with recruiting efforts as needed, vetting for key roles and ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new employees. HRIS/Payroll Administration Leverage HRIS tools like Paylocity or similar to manage payroll documentation, time-tracking, and benefit enrollment. Provide technical support for the HR team and employees using HRIS applications. Employee Engagement and Retention Foster a positive workplace culture by addressing employee relations issues and implementing employee engagement initiatives tailored to a manufacturing environment. Support leadership in managing performance reviews and implementing training programs to drive employee development. Benefits Administration & Support Support benefits-related activities, including employee inquiries and vendor coordination. Work with employees to drive awareness of wellness programs and benefit offerings. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within the manufacturing or industrial sectors. Familiarity with federal/state employment laws and OSHA compliance requirements. Strong workers’ compensation management experience is required. Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred but not required. Experience using HRIS platforms like Paylocity (or similar systems such as ADP, Workday, etc.). Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively. Proven ability to partner with operations leaders and coach employees at all levels. Why Join Us?
