Human Resources (HR) Assistant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about supporting HR operations. The role involves providing administrative assistance to the HR team, maintaining employee records, and contributing to company events and communication initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary point of contact at the front desk, welcoming guests, employees, applicants, and vendors with professionalism.
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail, as well as office supply inventory and ordering.
• Maintain and organize employee records with confidentiality, including onboarding new team members and updating HR files.
• Support ongoing software implementation projects by scanning, uploading, and organizing digital files.
• Assist in tracking attendance and disciplinary matters, providing backup support as needed.
• Prepare training rooms for new employee sessions, meetings, and company presentations.
• Plan and coordinate company events such as holiday celebrations, summer picnics, and Veterans Day lunches.
• Update company bulletin boards with relevant communications and photos from events.
• Create and gather content for quarterly newsletters, specifically focusing on HR-related updates.
• Ensure efficient communication of HR news and initiatives across the company. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR administrative or assistant role.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in HR software systems, including experience with UKG Pro.
• Familiarity with maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive employee information.
• Excellent customer service skills, including a detail-oriented approach when interacting with guests and employees.
• Proven ability to coordinate events and manage logistics effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail in record-keeping and data entry tasks.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills to support internal communications and newsletters. TalentMatch®
