Human Resources (HR) Assistant
Description We are looking for a sharp and adaptable Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team on a Contract basis in Birmingham, Alabama. This role involves supporting the HR department through various administrative and project-based tasks, ensuring smooth operations during a period of organizational transition. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities: • Assist the Benefits Specialist with benefit reconciliations and leave program administration. • Prepare and distribute HR-related paperwork and information to employees as needed. • Provide support for onboarding processes, including background checks and employee documentation. • Collaborate with the HR team on project-based initiatives to improve department efficiency. • Perform general administrative tasks to support HR operations and assist in the transition of roles within the department. • Maintain and update HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. • Address employee inquiries with a customer-focused approach. • Support employee relations by facilitating communication and resolving basic concerns. • Ensure compliance with business casual dress code and maintain a detail-oriented demeanor at all times. Requirements • Proven experience in human resources administration or a related field. • Familiarity with HRIS systems and the ability to manage employee data effectively. • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes and learn new processes quickly. • Proficiency in onboarding processes, including background checks and employee documentation. • A detail-oriented demeanor, adhering to a business casual dress code.
