Human Resources (HR) Assistant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana, on a Contract to permanent basis. In this role, you will support various HR functions, such as employee record management, recruitment, and compliance, to ensure smooth department operations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team within the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leave, and other data to ensure seamless payroll processing.
• Assist the HR Manager with policy development, recruitment procedures, and salary administration tasks.
• Post job openings online, review applications, and coordinate interview schedules.
• Organize and facilitate orientation and training programs for new team members.
• Manage the HR department’s calendar, including meeting and event coordination.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and labor regulations to maintain organizational standards.
• Generate and analyze HR reports to support decision-making processes.
• Conduct background checks and verify candidate qualifications during the recruitment process.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing employee inquiries and concerns.
• Support benefits administration and employee engagement initiatives. Requirements • Proficiency in HR software such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and HRMS.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and payroll tools.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting.
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Prior experience conducting background checks and managing benefit functions.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.
