Human Resources (HR) Assistant
Description We are looking for a skilled Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential HR functions, including benefits administration, background checks, and leave management. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in HR systems and a strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Responsibilities: • Assist in managing employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries. • Conduct background checks for new hires and ensure compliance with company policies. • Administer leave of absence processes, including FMLA tracking and documentation. • Collaborate with team members to update and maintain HR systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian. • Support auditing activities to ensure the accuracy of employee records and HR data. • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing employee questions and resolving HR-related issues. • Utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) to manage recruitment workflows effectively. • Facilitate communication between employees and management regarding HR matters. • Ensure adherence to legal and organizational standards in all HR processes. • Assist in organizing and maintaining HR documentation and records. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an HR assistant or related role. • Proficiency in using HR systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and HRMS. • Knowledge of leave management processes, including FMLA. • Strong auditing skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate records. • Familiarity with conducting background checks and understanding compliance requirements. • Excellent customer service skills to address employee inquiries effectively. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a dynamic environment. • Strong communication skills to facilitate interactions between employees and management.
