Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

ResponsibilitiesConduct onboarding for new employees.Process bi-weekly payroll for up to 100 employees using ADP.Address and support direct deposit questions, benefits inquiries, and PTO requests.Update and maintain spreadsheets.Provide documentation and support for Paid Leave Oregon, ensuring compliance with leave laws.Resolve conflicts as they arise and involve appropriate management when necessary.Provide onsite support for team members and maintain reliability.Ensure confidentiality and proper record-keeping, with clerical support from the receptionist.Post job openings and utilize recruiting agencies for hiring.Handle verbal and written warnings, as well as terminations.Manage the employee acquisition process, including sourcing, testing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.Conduct and analyze exit interviews, recommending changes as needed.Keep job descriptions accurate and compliant with relevant laws.Develop and update compensation strategies through market analysis and pay surveys.Investigate and resolve employee issues, concerns, and conflicts.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.Train employees on company and government policies, procedures, and regulations.Maintain employee benefits programs and educate employees on available benefits.Design and maintain a filing and retrieval system for human resource records.Administer payroll records and enter garnishment requests in a timely manner.Calculate and process employee 401(k) deferrals.Prepare and file government reports such as EEO-1.Respond to verifications of employment and third-party requests.Manage payroll requests and inquiries from employees and managers.Exercise judgment in handling payroll and HR issues, bringing them to management's attention as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, or Business.3-4 years of experience in human resources, with at least one year in the manufacturing industry.Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and ADP.Knowledge of hiring, human resources management, benefits administration, performance management, and employment law.Experience in creating a culture of engagement, collaboration, and teamwork.Ability to compile and analyze employment data for strategic planning.Well-organized with high attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.Additional Skills & QualificationsBeing bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus.Work Environment

This position is within a small, family-oriented company where employees work closely with the finance manager and other leadership members. The job offers flexible start times between 6 am and 8 am, with a regular schedule, such as 8 am to 4:30 pm, and includes a 30-minute lunch. While this role is independent, there is consistent support from leadership. The work environment is generally quiet, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
