Job Description
The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day needs of employees by providing responsive, accurate guidance and service across all HR functions. This role focuses on employee relations, workforce planning, training, and compliance while partnering closely with supervisors and leadership to maintain a positive, professional, and supportive work environment. The position requires strong HR experience in a manufacturing setting, advanced communication skills, and the ability to work independently with a high level of confidentiality and urgency.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the day-to-day needs of employees by providing ongoing HR guidance, assistance, and problem resolution.Communicate effectively with all levels of management regarding employee needs, performance, and workplace conduct.Partner with supervisors to maintain a positive, professional, and inclusive work environment.Work toward achieving annual HR goals and performance objectives aligned with organizational priorities.Address and resolve attendance-related issues promptly and consistently.Coordinate with onsite health and wellness personnel to support employee well-being.Participate actively in the onboarding and training of new hires to ensure a smooth integration into the organization.Assist with planning and execution of annual company events and employee engagement initiatives.Attend weekly staff and departmental meetings to support recruiting, training, and retention efforts and align workforce needs with operational demands.Foster a welcoming, open, and supportive environment within the HR function to build trust and engagement.Respond to employee inquiries in a timely, professional, and service-oriented manner.Pursue ongoing HR education through seminars, training classes, and professional development opportunities to stay current on HR best practices and regulations.Collaborate with external service vendors for employee benefits, leaves of absence, training, and other HR-related services.Assist supervisors and team leads with corrective actions, coaching documentation, and performance support while ensuring consistency and fairness.Work independently with strong initiative, demonstrating the ability to manage priorities with minimal supervision.Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and commitment to internal customer service in all HR interactions.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA and EEO requirements.Review and update HR policies and procedures as needed to maintain compliance and reflect organizational practices.Perform additional HR responsibilities and duties as assigned to support the needs of the department and organization.Essential Skills5+ years of previous human resources experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong background in human resources generalist functions, including employee relations, HR administration, and talent management.Experience supporting workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives.Proficiency in HR systems and HR administration, including exposure to HRIS and talent management tools.Knowledge of FMLA requirements and their application to employee leave situations.Understanding of equal employment opportunity (EEO) guidelines and related compliance obligations.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization.Strong data entry and administrative support skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all HR matters.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and show strong initiative.Demonstrated commitment to creating and supporting a positive workplace culture.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Human Resources, Psychology, or Social Work.Experience with HRIS platforms such as ADP and ServiceNow, or the ability to quickly learn similar HR and talent management systems.Experience with ADP payroll or similar payroll systems.Experience coordinating with external vendors for benefits, training, and other HR-related services.background in training instruction and supporting employee development initiatives.Familiarity with compliance regulations related to employment law and workplace policies.Ability to build strong relationships with employees and supervisors, fostering trust and open communication.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Work Environment
This is a second-shift position based in Bluffton, Ohio, with standard hours of 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The role operates in a manufacturing environment, supporting both hourly and salaried employees across various departments. The Human Resources Generalist works closely with onsite health and wellness personnel, supervisors, and leadership, as well as external service vendors for benefits, leaves of absence, and training. The environment emphasizes professionalism, collaboration, and a supportive workplace culture focused on employee well-being, engagement, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bluffton, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
