This is a temporary role intended to cover someone on extended leave, with a forecast duration of around six months. The Human Resources Generalist will manage a variety of personnel-related administrative tasks, providing clerical support to the HR department and employees on human resources-related activities, policies, processes, and procedures. The main duties of the position focus on Employee Relations and Onboarding, excluding recruiting, payroll, and benefits-related tasks.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and manage new employee onboarding in partnership with People and Culture team members.Manage people-related metrics and collaborate with the corporate data analytics team.Facilitate proper employee documentation and records in HR systems, compiling reports as needed to ensure employee databases remain accurate and up to date.Develop, implement, reinforce, and modify HR policies, programs, and procedures.Audit HR policies, programs, and procedures against relevant legislation and best practices, recommending improvements.Provide advice and assistance to employees and managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures.Resolve HR inquiries or escalate them to the appropriate individual depending on severity.Assist in the preparation of HR training material and ensure managers and employees are aware of appropriate HR policies, programs, and procedures and their accountabilities.Support the VP of HR in implementing talent management programs efficiently and effectively, including performance management, succession planning, diversity and inclusion, and special projects.Ensure projects are completed on time and meet project objectives.Provide support for onboarding and offboarding, including managing logistics with appropriate teams (e.g., IT, HR shared services) and assisting with exit interviews.Essential Skills3+ years of experience within an HR role in manufacturing or distribution.Employee Relations experience.New Employee Onboarding experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsBilingual in English/Spanish is a significant plus.2-3 years of experience in a professional HR role, preferably in a distribution center, warehouse, or related industry.HR certification or willingness to pursue basic certification.Experience working with HR information systems.Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Work EnvironmentThe work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break. The dress code is business casual. The work environment is within a national leader in CPAP machine and resupply order fulfillment.
