Human Resources Generalist
Job Title: Human Resources Generalist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist who will play a pivotal role in supporting a safe workplace culture while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures. This role involves providing day-to-day guidance on employment issues, executing annual HR programs, and managing employee engagement initiatives. Responsibilities + Support safe workplace cultures and compliance with EH&S requirements. + Provide guidance and support on employment issues related to HR policies and practices. + Execute annual HR programs including benefits enrollment, performance management, and talent management. + Ensure compliance with quality standards and adherence to organizational policies and procedures. + Conduct local training or coaching sessions to support HR initiatives. + Manage incident investigations related to policy violations, including reporting, investigation, actions, and closure. + Support talent acquisition by reviewing applications and interviewing candidates. + Provide functional support for staffing requirements, onboarding, promotions, salary changes, and more. + Liaise with the HR Shared Services team to ensure efficient completion of transactional activities. + Encourage use of HR Shared Services systems for resolving queries. + Plan and organize communication events, team building, and community activities. + Ensure policies are current, available, and compliant with local legislation. Essential Skills + 2-5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist or HR Representative. + Associate/Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources preferred. + Ability to manage multiple activities and maintain service quality. + Proficiency in HR information systems like ADP and SAP. + Excellent interpersonal skills with an approachable nature. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Additional Skills & Qualifications + SPHR certification is a plus. + Experience with hierarchical organizations preferred. + Knowledge of Canadian employment law is a plus. + Fluency in Spanish is advantageous. Work Environment This position requires working on-site in Edgewood from Tuesday to Thursday, with remote work available on Monday and Friday. The role offers a personal workspace or cubical. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edgewood, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.06/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
