Human Resources Generalist

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 3 years of Human Resources experienceFamiliarity with human resources information systems and applications and demonstrated proficiency in computer software programs. Knowledge of California employment laws.Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer the bachelor’s degree is in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field required.5 years of Human Resources experienceHR experience in a manufacturing environment. HR experience at a large global corporation that includes partnering with an HR Shared Services function.Experience in a HR rotational development program at a large company.Proficient with Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel.Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems. Familiarity with human resources information systems and applications and demonstrated proficiency in computer software programs.

We’re currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic person to join our team as a Human Resource Generalist at our Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) manufacturing and distribution facility in Fullerton, CA.

Essential Functions:

Supports all aspects of internal and external recruitment and selection processes for hourly positions. Completes all new hire documents and data input.Conduct phone, Skype and/or in-person interviewsStay up to date with current recruiting methodsAttend job fairs and careers eventsCoordinates, updates and delivers the new hire orientation programContact new employees and prepare onboarding sessionsProcesses employee status changes such as promotions, salary adjustments, new hires and terminations.  Tracks and prepares reports on employee status changes for the month, quarter and yearAssists with the preparation and completion of the annual Affirmative Action Plan.Knowledgeable in all areas of Human Resources, employment, employee policies and procedures, employee records, leave of absences, benefits, compensation and employee relationsAdvises Managers, Supervisors and leads of policies and procedures, various state and federal regulations, salary-related issues and effective human resources practices in regard to employee issuesInvestigates charges of alleged discrimination based on race, sex, age, religion, national origin, and physical/mental disabilitiesHandles employee relations and provides feedback to employees and the leadership teamInitiates and coordinates various activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee moraleOther duties as assigned by Manager of Human Resources
