Human Resources Generalist
Job Description Insight Global is currently looking for a Human Resources Generalist. The HR Generalist will provide support in the areas of labour and employee relations, disability management, compensation, and benefits, as well as talent acquisition and management. • Serves as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, an integral member in the smooth day-to-day operation of the HR function. • Working directly with HRBPs to respond to inquiries and provide support through the HR and cross functional teams. • Supporting local HRBPs regarding issues related to the collective bargaining agreement. • Managing HR documentation, records, and maintaining compliance with legislation and company policies. • Provide administrative support including writing, reviewing and managing employee discipline letters, performance management, and supporting with coaching leaders to have effective performance conversations. • Guide, support, and advise Managers on all aspects of the HR lifecycle and relative functions. • Provide administrative support to the HR functions, including drafting letters, maintaining reports etc. • Partner with cross functional teams to support in performance and talent management processes in the region. • Partner with HR functions to proactively respond to issues/ inquiries including grievances, training, compensation, development, and employee relations. • Support investigations and fact-finding for employee and labor relations issues within the region (e.g., harassment, disciplinary issues) and writing reports. • Support the absence management (illness or disability of employees) related to either occupational or non-occupational absences and support the business with the development of RTW plans, accommodations, and injury/illness reporting. • Coordinate the exit interview process for salaried employees, including conducting exit interviews, supporting managers and employees, and analyzing data to determine themes for future action. • Ensure best practices are followed by staying current with labor and employment legislation and HR industry developments. • Contribute to regional and national projects and influence HR strategies, policies, and procedures. • Strong technical skillset with MS Office Suite, including SharePoint, Outlook, MS Teams. • Working knowledge of Power BI and other systems knowledge an asset. • Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Requirements Do you have what it takes? • Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations or related discipline required • 3-5 years of verifiable experience in human resources generalist capacity • Experience with labor relations experience in a unionized environment • Strong functional HR expertise in following areas: HR Systems, organizational design, performance management, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, coaching and development, employee relations and conflict resolution • Ability to handle multiple assignments, prioritize activities in a fast-paced organization work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines • Proven team player • Experience supporting multi – location operations with multiple collective agreements in a federally regulated industry • Strong interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills. • HRIS and data analytics experience is an asset • Potential travel within the region/country as well as ability to work outside regular business hours as required
