Human Resources Director
Description The HR Manager/Leader will oversee the full Human Resources function for two manufacturing locations in Minnesota (Rochester, MN), leading a team of 10+ HR professionals. This role partners closely with site and corporate leadership to execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring compliance, talent development, and a strong employee experience across large, complex manufacturing operations. Core Responsibilities Design and execute local HR strategies aligned with corporate HR goals and business initiatives Lead and develop a Human Resources team of 10+ employees across two locations Partner with Corporate Talent Acquisition to deliver effective local recruitment programs Support leaders with organizational change, communication strategies, employee relations, and conflict resolution Develop and deploy leadership and employee training programs Oversee the full employee lifecycle, from hiring through separation Serve as EEO Specialist and lead divisional Affirmative Action planning Administer benefits coordination and conduct local compensation and benefits surveys Track, analyze, and present HR metrics to site leadership Manage unemployment claims, employee relations investigations, and legal matters in partnership with counsel Identify, recommend, and implement HR policies, programs, and process improvements Skills Human resources Additional Skills & Qualifications Must Have Qualifications: - 8+ years of progressive Human Resources and training experience - 5+ years of HR leadership experience supporting large or multi‑site operations (600+ employees) - Proven people leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management - Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle management, employment law, and compliance (EEO/AA) - Experience partnering with business leaders on organizational change, conflict management, and workforce planning - Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and maintain strict confidentiality - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent approved experience) - On‑site availability in Rochester, MN (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm) Nice to Haves - Experience within manufacturing, aerospace, defense, medical device, or industrial environments - Exposure to corporate HR structures and shared services models - Experience administering or analyzing HR metrics, wage studies, and benefits surveys - Strong project management and cross‑functional influence skills - Financial acumen, including risk analysis and workforce cost considerations A+ / Ideal Candidate Profile Trusted HR business partner with the ability to influence senior leaders on business‑critical and sensitive matters Proven leader of multi‑site HR teams in complex, regulated environments Strategic thinker who can translate corporate HR initiatives into effective local execution Adept at balancing employee advocacy with business needs Highly collaborative, calm under pressure, and confident handling escalated employee relations or legal matters Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $67.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
