Albertsons-Safeway's Northern California Division has an opening for a Human Resources Coordinator on the NorCal Human Resources team.
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the daily Human Resources operations for Northern California Division Office and retail locations. They are an integral part of the HR team, dedicated to ensuring that HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. This professional is responsible for streamlining HR processes, maintaining employee records, overseeing HR databases, and managing administrative tasks for the NorCal HR team.
Responsibilities
Employee Records and Data Management
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR systems. Updating records for new hires, terminations, transfers and employee changes. Troubleshoot and resolve employee payroll and HRIS data issues Process terminations and final pay for HR and Asset Protection as directed. Generate weekly and ad hoc reports, process uploads and perform payroll cost transfers as directed Ensuring the security and confidentiality of employee data.Compliance and Administration
Research and accurately complete Unemployment Claims Research Labor Claims and complete prep work for labor conferences and hearings Work with Store teams and HR Managers to support proper LOA denials, extensions and return to work processes Manage process for timely, secure delivery of records to lawful inquiries Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practicesHR Policies and Business Processes
Provides support for HR systems and technology including troubleshooting and training Act as subject matter expert for identified business processes & activities within HR operations & shared services team Create a continuous improvement culture, proactively identifying processes for improvement and driving change responding to business requirements Assists with special projects or does research as assigned/neededGeneral HR Support for Safeway Retail Stores
Manage HR Inbox for assigned districts. Responding to employee inquiries related to HR policies and procedures. Fostering positive employee communication and engagement.Salary range is $25.38 to $33.00 per hour. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
Knowledge and Experience
Education Level: Degree in business, human resources or related field a plus but not required. Human Resources Certificate a plus.
Skills and Experiences
3-4 years retail or grocery experience preferred. Sound judgment in decision making. Strong problem-solving skills; able to solve a wide range of complex problems. Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail. Strong conflict management and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and influence others. High degree of initiative; proven team player, excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to manage confidential information. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel. Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management.Travel Requirements: None
Physical Environment
