As a Human Resources Business Partner, you’ll be a trusted advisor and strategic collaborator, helping shape a workplace where people thrive. You’ll work closely with leaders and teams to align people strategies with business goals, foster a culture of inclusion and growth, and ensure seamless employee experience across the organization and project that you will be supporting.

This role will be based in Vancouver, BC.

Your role

Collaborate with business leaders to identify and prioritize organizational capabilities, behaviors, and structures that support strategic goals.

Provide HR and LR leadership, coaching and advice to support the Operational and project leadership teams on all people-related matters.

Build strong, credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Provide thoughtful coaching on talent management, performance, recruitment, terminations, compensation, development, and change management.

Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of the collective agreement and Human Resources policies and procedures.

Advise and support managers on labour laws, disciplinary actions, and administrative processes to ensure fair and consistent practices in a unionized and non-unionized work environment.

Partner with the Recruitment team and hiring managers to support staffing plans, project assignments, project mobilization and demobilization as well as talent redeployment.

Anticipate business and project needs to deliver HR solutions aligned with the mission, vision, and values.

Lead initiatives that boost employee engagement, strengthen culture, and retain top talent.

Periodically undertake special projects as a project leader or project team member

About you

Completion of a University degree in Human Resources and/or Industrial relations degree/diploma program from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a generalist in HR.

Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity, negotiate, facilitate and resolve conflict.

Knowledge of unionized environment, investigations, grievance, and arbitration processes will be considerate an asset.

Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law and organizational development.

Flexible, adaptable, and resourceful

Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately with minimal supervision.

Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization and to establish and maintain effective working project partnerships.

Knowledge in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

French oral and written skills will be considered a strong asset as the role interacts across Canada.

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $80,000- $110,000 annually) (Only Applicable to British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.
