The Human Resources Assistant supports the effective daily operations of the Core HR department and is responsible for independently managing key processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to respond to a variety of employee and manager inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
Essential Job Functions
Manage all new hire onboarding tasks, including I-9 and E-Verify processing, and facilitate first-day onboarding activities. Monitor and respond to inquiries via a group inbox and incoming calls, providing timely and accurate information on policies and procedures, using discretion, sound judgment, and appropriate delegation. Maintain and organize electronic personnel and departmental records, including timely scanning and indexing of documents into the FileNet recordkeeping system. Assist with Core HR on various activities and projects, including but not limited to benefits, employee events, open enrollment, and compliance initiatives. Assist with employee engagement efforts, including the planning and execution of corporate events, acting as the primary point of contact, and maintaining the related budgets. Manage HR procurement requests, including the submission of purchase orders and coordination with Accounts Payable for payment. Order supplies for the HR department and corporate functions as needed. Assist in maintaining and updating HR forms, templates, and documentation. Serve as backup for receptionist duties, including creating visitor and employee badges, managing the corporate visitor process, answering and routing calls, and other administrative tasks as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or adjusted based on department needs.Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. 1-2 years’ experience in a Human Resources role preferred. Prior experience with Oracle HCM or another HRIS highly desired. Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point (Access is preferred). Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal communication skills. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Flexible and adaptable to changes in systems, processes, and priorities; able to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.Salary: $15.00-$20.00/hr
