Human Resources Advisor
Our client is a well-established professional services firm in Downtown Toronto seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and support all people-related initiatives across the organization. This role is ideal for a mature HR professional who can confidently navigate complex employee matters, act as a trusted advisor to leadership, and play a key role in maintaining a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

Employee Relations, Leadership & Culture
Serve as the primary HR contact and advisor for all employee and workplace matters.Lead sensitive and complex employee relations issues, including difficult conversations, with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.Act as a cultural leader, fostering a respectful, collaborative, and positive workplace.Support employee engagement, social, and culture-focused initiatives.Proactively address and manage negative or disruptive behaviors to protect workplace culture.HR Strategy, Compliance & Operations
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures aligned with organizational values and Ontario employment legislation (ESA, Health & Safety, Accessibility).Advise leadership on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and change management.Manage accommodations, leaves of absence, and return-to-work programs.Ensure HR practices remain modern, efficient, and supported by strong systems and computer skills.Performance & Talent Management
Lead performance management processes, including coaching, progressive discipline, and terminations when required.Partner with leadership on employee development, retention, and succession planning.Recruitment & Onboarding
Oversee full-cycle recruitment for professional, administrative, and support roles.Support onboarding and integration to ensure alignment with organizational culture and expectations.Qualifications5–8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a manager-level or equivalent leadership role.Legal or professional services industry experience is strongly preferred.Open to candidates who may not hold a formal HR Manager title but have clearly performed the work.Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.Confident, polished communicator with strong emotional intelligence and sound judgment.Highly personable and professional; able to represent leadership and the organization with credibility.Strong computer and systems skills; comfortable working in a fully paperless environment.Ability to travel to other office locations as required.CHRL or CHRP designation considered an asset but not required.
