Human Resource Generalist

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field 

0 - 1 year experience working in an HR field or onboarding 

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 

This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items. 

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus 

Strong ability to multi-task and connect at all levels in the organization 

Familiarity with HR practices, policies, and regulations 

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills 

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 

Proficiency with MS Office 

Detail-orientated with exceptional organizational problem-solving abilities.

We’re currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic person to join our team as a Human Resource Generalist at our Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) manufacturing facility in Tucson, AZ. 

JOB SUMMARY: 

HR Generalist responsibilities will require application of broad knowledge of HR and hands-on expertise with demonstrated results in several of the following functions/HR processes. 

Job Responsibilities:  

Assist with various HR functions, such as, employee relations, performance management, and policy development. 

Supports all aspects of internal and external recruitment and selection processes for hourly positions 

Completes all new hire documents and data input 

Conducts phone, virtual and/or in person interviews 

Stays up to date with current recruiting methods 

Attends job fairs and careers events 

Coordinates, updates and delivers the new hire orientation program 

Contacts new employees and prepare onboarding sessions 

Processes employee status changes such as promotions, salary adjustments, new hires and terminations.   

Tracks and prepares reports on employee status changes for the month, quarter and year 

Knowledgeable in all areas of Human Resources, employment, employee policies and procedures, employee records, leave of absences, benefits, compensation, and employee relations 

Assists with various HR functions, such as, employee relations, performance management, and policy development. 

Initiates and coordinates various activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee morale 

Maintains high ethics, confidentiality, and values in the workplace 

Serves as a point of contact for employees’ HR-related questions providing accurate and timely information and guidance 

Maintains employee records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
