The MV-75 Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) isthePremierVertical Lift military program in the world.Bell's MV-75 FLRAA aircraft will become the Army's primary assault aircraft for the next 30 years, sunsetting UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters and advancing the Army's assault capabilities. The MV-75 program is utilizing the latest in cutting edge technology to expand the United States Army’s tactical advantage infuture conflicts. The Bell MV-75 teamseeksthe top engineering talents from around the industry to design, develop, and deliver the world’s next-generation military aircraft.

This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX and will work at both Headquarters and the SIL in Arlington TX at the Flight Research Center.

Human Factors Manager, FLRAA Mission Systems

The Human Factors Manager is responsible for leading the team that develops the pilot / vehicle interface.

Your team will work from anthropometric requirements and pilot feedback to create task analysis and simulations to inform how our pilots and passengers’ interface with the aircraft and aircraft controls.

This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely the customer, other Integrated Product Teams, and suppliers.

What you’ll be doing as a Human Factors Manager:

Manage and coach human factors engineers to ensure an engaged and skilled team.Manage and provide status updates on schedule, cost, risk, and staffing requirements.Work closely with Bell engineers and pilots to establish system design, operating, and training requirements to ensure optimized human-machine interfaces.Work closely with other teams to complete design trade studies while maintaining operability and maintainability.Actively engage with other IPTs to provide continuous evaluation of the design evolution, always looking for Human Factors compliance and improvements.Work closely with the customer to incorporate user feedback into the design and ensure the aircraft is able to successfully support the end-user’s mission.Support simulation, lab, and aircraft test activities to evaluate and improve proposed designs.

Skills You Bring To this Role:

· Previous leadership experience in the aerospace and defense industry (including formal or informal, technical or non-technical)

· Previous experience with supplier management and project management

· Excellent communicator: must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and other Integrated Product Team members.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

What you need to be successful:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Psychology. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered. Advanced degrees may be considered as additional experience.

· At least 8 years of experience in technical roles or project engineering roles within the aerospace and defense industry.

· 2 years of Technical Leadership experience (indirect team leadership experience may be considered).

· Familiarity with human factors design principles and how they apply to aircraft, rotorcraft or tiltrotor designs.

· Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Preferred Skills include:

Previous experience designing aerospace systems in accordance with MIL-STD-1472 human engineering requirementsPrevious experience working with engineers and pilots to establish system design requirements, operating requirements, and training requirements to ensure optimized human-machine interfaces.Previous experience working in simulation lab and aircraft test environments to evaluate and improve proposed designs.Previous experience performing workload assessments, usability testing, and task analyses for cockpit, cabin and ground operations.Previous experience building integrated master schedules and using EVMS principles to measure progress
