What You'll Do

Enterprise Services provides innovative, resilient, and scalable services to BCGers around the world. It includes a range of business-critical services and solutions including Global Finance Operations, Procurement & Payables, Travel, Meetings & Events, Case Team Services, ClientView, Real Estate, Executive Support Services, and Business Insights and Analytics; supported by transversal expertise in our product portfolios and excellence functions.  ES provides a management service for BCG hubs around the world, with the locations currently in scope including Delhi, Bangalore, London, Lisbon, Boston and Madrid.  
 
ES Hub Management Services is part of BCG’s strategy to build and operate best-in-class shared services to support a regional, functional and global customer base. We have built a critical mass of key teams in many of our hubs to enable agile and seamless service to our internal clients. In addition to their presence in the ES hubs, many of these teams also have members located in offices elsewhere. As a result, there is a mix of locally-based managers, and teams who are managed by leaders working out of another BCG office. Because of this highly-matrixed environment, the ES-managed hubs play a critical role in ensuring a “OneBCG” approach, with an office culture and operations perspective that encourages teaming, affiliation, and effective management both within and across teams. 
   
The new role of Hub Management Services Senior Director is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned operations leader with an in-depth understanding of BCG culture and ways of working, to lead best-in-class operational hubs for the firm. The role requires a strong strategic mindset, an ability to engender trust and openness across all levels of staff, and a thoughtful, diplomatic, and long-term approach to problem solving. The Hub Management Services Senior Director will play a critical advisory and execution role to broader BCG leadership on operations excellence and future-state operations strategy, and will be a key leader in driving appropriate work to a shared services environment. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a leader who thrives on managing both the strategic and the operations aspect of an organization, who is seeking an opportunity to function in both a regional and global context, and wants to help facilitate change in an evolving operations environment for a growing multi-national organization. 

 
Primary responsibilities will include the following: 
 
1. Translating the ES vision for Hub Management Services into a clearly defined global strategy and overseeing its execution, including the communication of quantitative & qualitative outcomes. Main focuses will be: 

Safety, Well-being, Risk, and Resilience – Prioritizing safety, well-being, and care, with robust risk management Creating Connections - Enabling strong connections with BCG core business, business units, and external partners Experience Excellence - Fostering an engaging, diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture across the hubs Office Service Excellence - Building, maintaining and evolving KPIs for exceptional standards of office services delivery Operational Efficiency & Scalability - Optimizing space and resources to enhance cost-effective productivity while supporting scalable hub operations 

2. Leading the office operations teams across the three EMESA hubs currently managed by Enterprise Services (Lisbon Capability Centre, London Canary Wharf Capability Centre and Madrid Advanced Capability Centre), ensuring efficient operations and a vibrant work environment for 1,000 BCG colleagues and visitors. 

Act as the primary point of contact for the EMESA leadership team in relation to three EMESA hub topics, influencing them in line with the Hub Management Services vision & strategy Lead, support, and develop the four hub leads (two Directors and one Senior Manager), ensuring that they and their teams (15 FTE plus CWRs) fulfill their roles in accordance with the ES Hub Management Services strategy and Health & Safety requirements. Drive consistency of roles & responsibilities and operating principles within the EMESA hubs. Identify and drive key hub-level EVP initiatives relating to workplace experience, in partnership with functional and local HR, ensuring an appropriate degree of consistency between the EMESA hubs. Together with the Finance Business Partner, set take overall responsibility for the EMESA hub budgets, including budget planning, monitoring spends, cost management, large event/affiliation spend and approval (hub-level budgets management by hub leads) Work with Global Real Estate to participate in office planning across the EMESA hubs, including capacity planning, oversight and coordination of build outs & renovations, cap-ex requests, tech upgrades etc.  Oversee the affiliation & inclusion agendas, with overall responsibility for execution (delivered through the teams). Oversee the EMESA hubs-specific reward & recognition schemes, partnering with local HR and functional representatives (delivered through the teams) 

3. Supporting the planning & operationalization of new hubs within the Hub Management Services portfolio 

Partner with the regional leadership team to understand the strategic objectives for the new hub and steer their expectations in line with the Hub Management Services vision & strategy Act as a thought partner to functional/departmental heads within the hub on topics relating to the strategic and competitive advantage the new hub could offer Lead all aspects of the hub set-up, in close collaboration with local teams Build budget, secure set-up FTE approval and align with the relevant internal stakeholders on office location and associated requirements (e.g. CT, GRE, Tax, Mobility) Support markets and functions with getting the start-up team in placeEnsure new hub assumes BCG identify, culture and standards

A seasoned Senior Director, with significant experience of leading, inspiring and developing operational teams across the world Understanding of BCG global operations and culture, across geographies, business units and functions A proven ability to drive business outcomes within a complex matrix, including understanding the needs of multiple stakeholders and leading by influence rather than direct management Ability to navigate at a strategic and an operational level, providing a strategic operating framework for the teams and ensuring strategic alignment across a wide variety of activities Collaborative problem solving, with an unrelenting focus on driving positive business outcomes and contributing tangible value Highly articulate, with concise communication skills and strong executive presence  The skillset to produce highly polished presentation materials suitable for senior BCG audiences The mental agility & foresight to plan for and manage complexity as we grow Team-oriented with the willingness to invest deeply in peer relationships Structured thinking and the skills to translate ideas into a coherent plan Experience of working with colleagues from different parts of the world, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and an ability to develop relationships in a virtual context Proven track record of managing significant budgets and large-scale capacity planning 

Who You'll Work With

The role reports to the ES Hub Management Services Executive Director. It will work closely with the Hub Management Services Executive Director for India Hubs, the ES Hub leads and their teams, and office leads for non-ES hubs, including Nexus Atlanta and Costa Rica. The role-holder will partner with functions, such as HR, Risk, Real Estate and Finance, on some initiatives. The role holder will be the primary point of contact for the EMESA leadership team in relation to hub strategy and other hub-related topics.
