HSSE Manager

What this job involves:

At JLL, we are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Manager to direct the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our HSSE management systems at client facilities and small capital projects. In this critical role, you will provide expert guidance, identify necessary resources and equipment, and implement comprehensive HSSE compliance programs related to JLL's scope of work. You will advise the JLL management team on HSSE issues, evaluate potential hazards and environmental impacts, conduct thorough accident investigations, and ensure full compliance with all regulatory and client requirements.

What your day-to-day will look like:Provide leadership in developing and implementing HSSE management systems and compliance programs across client sitesCollaborate with the JLL Site Team and account EHS Manager to establish performance goals and review metrics against key performance indicatorsTrack, report, and analyze HSSE metrics while developing action plans to meet or exceed performance targetsDirect the implementation of HSSE Committees tailored to each site's specific needs and requirementsDevelop qualification programs to effectively manage JLL service partners working under our scope of workEvaluate site hazards for safety, health, and environmental risks with a proactive, prevention-oriented approachCreate and implement environmental, health and safety procedures to reduce risks in JLL activitiesDevelop comprehensive inspection programs and establish regular inspection schedulesIdentify training requirements and coordinate sessions to meet regulatory and client training mandatesEstablish effective record management policies that comply with regulatory and JLL requirementsAssist the JLL Site Team with accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actionsMaintain collaborative partnerships with client HSSE organizations to identify problems and coordinate solutionsDrive initiatives that foster a strong HSSE culture throughout the organizationProvide support to client HSSE teams by conducting selected activities as agreed by JLL and clientWork closely with JLL Project Managers, contractors, facility management teams, risk management, and regulatory agencies

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent years of experience)Broad knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety regulations5+ years of experience working with HSSE compliance and management systems, preferably in facility operationsDemonstrated success working with subcontractors/vendors to support mutual safety objectivesExcellent written and oral communication skills for effective policy development and trainingProficiency with word processing and database applicationsAbility to inspect both outdoor and indoor areas to monitor compliance with established programsStrong analytical skills for hazard evaluation and incident investigation

Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree or professional designations such as OHST, ASP, or CSPEHS experience in biopharmaceutical, research, or maintenance operationsAvailability to travel (15%-25%)Experience developing and delivering HSSE training programsKnowledge of management system standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001Strong leadership skills with ability to influence across organizational boundariesExperience with environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives
